Welcome to The Cedar School

We are proud of the learning community we have fostered at the school as we believe we put our children and Young People at the centre and heart of all that we do.

We hope our website allows you to know more about our school community and our overall learning ethos and the way we work with our children and families. Please do spend some time looking through all aspects of 'school life' so you can appreciate the educational offer we extend to our children and young people. Much of this information is also contained within our SEND Information Report - 'School Local Offer'

I am fortunate to lead a talented educational team who work in open partnership with Health colleagues to meet the learning and holistic outcomes of all our young people.                            Our children are of course our greatest ambassadors and demonstrate our deeply held belief that we can all learn from each other, if we work with determination, passion, tolerance and genuine collaboration ‘Partners in learning’

Should you wish to know more about the life of The Cedar School, please do arrange a visit to the school…you are assured of a warm welcome.                                                                    Jonathan Howells - Headteacher

We had a fantastic SPORTS DAY. Thanks to Abbi, Southampton FC Academy,Testlands and of course all of our parents/carers (and staff team!) for making the day so wonderfully, positive for our children. They of course were the real stars on the day and our congratulations  go to all our children and particularly to the BLUE TEAM!

As you will also know, with our Outside learning/Forest schools determination we will be getting children 'out and about' our school site as much as we can, this term       Please may I therefore remind you to send in sun creams, hats and plenty of drinks for the days in school etc.                                   Please also be aware that we take an appropriately 'relaxed view' around uniform at this time of year too, so again please do dress your child appropriately for the beautiful weather - THANK YOU!

Keeping our children safe

The school has 3 trained DSLs, Designated Safeguarding Leads.
If you are concerned in anyway about the safety or well being of any of our children, then please contact:

  • Cesia Moran,
  • Jan O'Dell
  • Jonathan Howells

They will be available to talk any of your concerns through with you and to then consider any 'next steps'
