Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails

Hello from Cedar
Time really is whizzing by!  Next week will be the last week before the half-term break.  We will finish for the week's holiday on Friday 20th October.  The children will return to school on Monday 30th October.

This week it has been lovely to welcome a new SSA, Jo Poole, to Emerald Class.  Jo has quickly settled into school life and is really enjoying getting to know all of the children.  Welcome, Jo; we hope that you will be very happy at Cedar!

As Ryan wrote to say earlier in the week, we are all looking forward to welcoming top athlete Luke Delahunty to Cedar on Wednesday. Luke served in the RAF for 8 years as a Senior Aircraftman. In 1996 he was in a motorbike crash which left him paralysed from the chest down. Luke competed in the 2016 Invictus Games in Orlando and specialises in rowing and hand-cycling.  It will be inspiring to learn more about Luke's story. He is someone who most definitely embodies our Five Cedar Hopes of Communication, Empowerment, Discovery, Aspiration and Resilience.

We talk a lot about our Five Cedar Hopes in school and some of  you may sometimes find it helpful to use these words at home because the children are amazingly brilliant at sharing when they, or someone else, 'lives out each Hope'.

A reminder that my weekly Friday email to families is now also being published on the home page of our school website (you may need to scroll down the home page) so that it is easily accessible for all to see.  You can refer back to previous weeks' emails too!

Thank you, as always, for your on-going kindness and support.

Warm best wishes for the weekend; see you all again on Monday!
Neil, Cesia and the whole Cedar team
