Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails

Hello from Cedar

Happy New Year and welcome back to the new term at Cedar!  It has, as I said in my letter yesterday, been great to welcome the children back to school and to get back into our learning routines!  As always, your lovely children are upbeat and positive; the term has got off to a good start!

Early next week you will all be receiving a letter called 'Our Learning Newsletter' written by your child's class teachers(s).  This letter explains the key themes which your child will be learning about this half-term and also suggests some possible activities which you might want to do at home to support your child's learning.  The letters also include any information/reminders, etc. for the class.  We hope that you will find the letters helpful; we will welcome any feedback!  Please look out for these letters early next week!

Just a reminder that we have a ‘Save the Date!’ for parents/carers of children currently in Years 9, 10 and 11! Very soon you will receive a letter inviting you to a coffee morning in school on Tuesday 23rd January between 10am and 12pm. The purpose of this is to have the opportunity to think about, and discuss, your child's future plans and to get advice or ask any questions you may have over a cuppa and some biscuits! We will look forward to welcoming you to school then.

Yesterday Karen Collins sent out a letter from me with important information about school dates for this term and the Summer Term.  If you have not already had a chance to do so, please have a read of this letter.  Thank you. I have also listed key dates both for this term and the Summer Term below:

Friday 9th February 2024 Break up for Half-Term Holiday
Monday 19th February 2024 School Returns
Thursday 28th March 2024 Break Up for Easter Holiday
Monday 15th April 2024 School Returns
Monday 6th May 2024 Bank Holiday (school closed)
Friday 24th May 2024 Break Up for Half-Term Holiday
Monday 3rd June 2024 School Returns
Friday 19th July 2024 Break Up for Summer Holiday

We have no further staff INSET Days this school year.

After the exceptionally heavy rain of recent days, here's hoping for a drier spell of weather and for some weekend sunshine!

Thank you again; take care and see you all on Monday!
Neil, Cesia and the whole Cedar team
