Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails

Hello from Cedar

We hope that this week has been kind to you and your family.

Everyone enjoyed 'World Book Day' yesterday when children experienced a day of stories and reflection about authors and book characters.  We came off our normal timetable to focus entirely on Books!  My thanks to Naomi and Hannah who organised the day for everyone in school!  There were some amazing 'book-inspired' costumes being worn in school yesterday; thank you for your wonderful support with everything!

On Saturday 16th March the 'Cedar Bikers' will have their annual Easter Egg Ride-In here at school. Yes, the 'Cedar Bikers' will be riding in with their delivery of easter eggs and sweets for the children!  Karen Booth and Sue Carter will kindly be representing the staff team at this event. The school reception area will be open from 10.30am where members of our dedicated Fundraising Team will have hot drinks and refreshments available for all.

Everyone is invited to come along and give the 'Cedar Bikers'  a warm welcome for their 11am 'ish' arrival!  We have some very hardy bikers who will make the trip regardless of the weather!

For those of you who are new to the school, the 'Cedar Bikers' are a group of bikers who ride their impressive moritobikes to a number of events and venues across the year.  They visit Cedar on occasions across the year.  They very generously raise money for school and bring festive sweets and chocolates at Christmas and Easter.  We call them the 'Cedar Bikers' because they are such great supporters of our school!  Our very grateful thanks to them all!

Changing theme, I am sharing a message below from Amanda Thorne, our Computing Leader in school, about an exciting learning workshop which we have coming up for parents/carers soon:

On Tuesday 19th March between 9.30 and 10.30, we shall be hosting an informal Computing and Technology learning workshop here in school. There will be an opportunity for you to see the Computing Assessment document used by many of our learners, browse through various resources and of course share some refreshments together.

If you would like more information about the workshop, please do contact Amanda at amandathorne@cedarschool. co.uk

If you would like to attend the workshop please let Karen know at karencollins@cedarschool. co.uk
