PE & Sports Premium

What is the PE and Sport Premium?

The PE and Sport Premium is money which schools receive to support children’s physical health, as well as their mental wellbeing.

Schools must publish details of how they spend their PE and Sport Premium.

Cedar’s PE and Sport Premium Strategy

Our PE and Sport Premium Strategy Statement for 2022-2023 is below:

Sport at Cedar

Cedar prides itself on the physical education and sporting offer for all children. There is a legacy of sporting excellence in the school and all children take an active part in sporting opportunities.

Children from Cedar were crowned Hampshire Champions at New Age Kurling in June 2019 and have achieved this title repeatedly in both New Age Kurling and Boccia over the years. Furthermore, and in a real claim to fame, Cedar children were presented with the prestigious National English Federation of Disability Sport, Junior Sports Award, picking up their trophy in 2012 at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

Probably our finest 'sporting hour' and accolade was when a former pupil, David Smith, won gold medals in Boccia at the Rio Paralympic Games 2016 and again at the Tokyo Paralympics held in 2021.
