Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails
Hello from Cedar
We hope that you enjoyed the Easter break and that the new term has started well both for your child and for you.
Class Learning Letters
Your child's Class Learning Letter for this half-term will be sent home next week, either in paper format or attached to an email. Please do keep a look out for this! This important letter gives information about your child's learning and ways that you might choose to develop this learning at home. Thank you, as always, for your support.
VE Day 80th Anniversary - Thursday 8th May
Thursday 8th May will be the 80th Anniversary of VE Day ('Victory in Europe Day' - which was the end of The Second World War in Europe). A number of national events are planned to mark this important anniversary. We will talk with the children about VE Day that week and, on Thursday 8th May, everyone is invited to wear something red, white or blue ... or indeed any combination of these colours.
Cedar Sports Festival - 13th, 14th and 15th May
This year, following feedback from families (thank you) and our own reflections, we have decided to make a few changes to our 'Sports Day' arrangements. This year events will be spread across three days and we are calling it our 'Cedar Sports Festival'.
- On Tuesday 13th May, children in Red Class, Blue Class, Yellow Class and Green Class will be participating in some activities in the morning and in some races during the afternoon. Families of children in these classes are invited to join us from 1pm to enjoy the sporting fun!
- On Wednesday 14th May, children in Diamond Class, Sapphire Class, Amethyst Class and Ruby Class will be participating in some activities in the morning and in some races during the afternoon. Families of children in these classes are invited to join us from 1pm to enjoy the sporting fun!
- On Thursday 15th May, children in Purple Class and Emerald Class will be participating in some activities in the morning and in some races during the afternoon. Families of children in these classes are invited to join us from 1pm to enjoy the sporting fun!
Further details will come out nearer the time. My thanks to Conor Lucey and James Phillips who will be leading the Cedar Sports Festival for the children.
INSET Day - Tuesday 6th May
A reminder that school will be closed for a staff INSET Day on Tuesday 6th May. This means:
- We will be in school for a full week next week.
- Then school will be closed for Bank Holiday Monday on Monday 5th May followed by an INSET Day on Tuesday 6th May. The children will return as normal on Wednesday 7th May.
We are excited for the Summer Term and are pleased that it has got off to a good start this week. See you all on Monday!
Neil, Cesia and the whole Cedar Team
