Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails
Hello from Cedar
Class Transition for 2025-2026
Today your child is bringing home details of their class for 2025-2026 ahead of spending some time in their new class on Wednesday 2nd July and Monday 7th July. Please look out for the sheet containing these details in your child's bag. We work very hard to ensure that transition to their new class is seamless and smooth for every child ... but please do let us know if we can support your child further. We really do want to get it right for everybody.
Cedar's Summer Fair - TOMORROW
Cedar School's Summer Fair will be held tomorrow (Saturday 28th June) between 11am and 2pm. Everyone is invited!
We look forward to seeing many of you there!
Please note that the stalls at the Summer Fair will be cash only ... we are so sorry but we will not be able to accept cards. We will try to have change available and our token exchange system will be available as before.
Outdoor Learning Afternoon
We will be holding an Outdoor Learning Afternoon on Wednesday (2nd July) from 1.30pm – 2.30pm. Parents/Carers are warmly invited to join their children as they do some learning activities in the school grounds. The afternoon will be informal. If you choose to take your child on when you leave at 2.30pm, that will be fine but please let your child's class staff team know first. Thank you. I will not be in school on Wednesday afternoon because I have to attend a meeting at Southampton City Council but I look forward to hearing about everyone's fun learning!
Staffing Updates
At the end of this term three of our wonderful SSAs will be leaving Cedar.
Wendy New and Fay Wright will be taking well-deserved retirements after many years of dedicated service to the children at Cedar. Wendy's last day at Cedar will be 11th July while Fay will finish at the end of term.
Wendy started working at Cedar on 3rd October 1994 and has been here for over 30 years.
Fay started working at Cedar on 15th November 1999 and has been here for almost 26 years.
My thanks to these amazing colleagues for well over half a century of dedicated service between them.
As well as this, Indie Nash will be leaving us after two years in order to go to Winchester University to train to be a teacher. We are very proud of you, Indie ... good luck!
